Military.Finance has been hinting for several days at a massive event that it had planned, and on July 7th, it finally revealed what it is — a crypto-based CoD Tournament.
Military.Finance is a fully decentralized token that aims to help veterans through charities and special events where vets can win all kinds of rewards. For example, the project recently started operation Surprise a Soldier, in which it allows its community to select a soldier that has not seen their families for years to then send them home as a surprise to their family. So far, the project did this for two soldiers, both times with truly heartwarming results.
This is only one of the moves that the project has recently made. But, being great as it was, it was amazingly not the largest thing that Military.Finance has organized. In fact, the project’s largest event to date is about to take place in September, and it was only officially announced on July 7th.
Military.Finance reveals its upcoming tournament
For several days now, Military.Finance has been claiming that it has something massive planned — something that will be much bigger than anything it has done so far. The community has been speculating on social media for days, with nobody actually having any clue about what to expect.
Finally, it revealed the upcoming event as the first-ever crypto-based Call of Duty tournament. Not only that, but the tournament will offer the chance for players to win $1 million.
Essentially, the event will last for as long as 13 months, and every month, the project will offer a $50,000 reward to a single winner. There will also be a final tournament, which will include winners and semifinalists from all of the previous, smaller tournaments that are to take place over the coming months.
This final tournament will be worth $400,000, which is a massive amount that will go to the victor. And, the best part is that users only need $25 in $MIL to be eligible to participate.
Details about the tournament
The tournament is still some ways away, so more information is likely to be released as September approaches. But, with that said, there are some details that are already known, such as the ability to team up and have a team leader. The team leader will take command over a small team of 4 players. Once the user qualifies, they will be put into a bracket, where the opponents are randomly selected.
Users can qualify for the tournament by actively playing, as every month the project will allow 2 weeks in which users can play daily, be put up against an opponent at random, and qualify by becoming the winner. Meanwhile, the winners are based on the number of kills that they make.
There is also a so-called ‘Wild Card Option,’ where a select number of teams will be chosen completely at random from a pool of teams. These people will play in the final tournament, and every game entry increases the chances of being selected.
As it was to be expected, the announcement blew up and people are already beyond excited for the upcoming event. Furthermore, the announcement also brought a number of new people to the community, as can clearly be seen by the rapid growth of the project’s Telegram community.
As mentioned, the project has a lot of details to announce in weeks to come, including the exact date when the tournament will begin, its sponsors, and more. For the time being, its goal is to see whether or not the community will be interested in this sort of event, and how many people are going to participate. And, of course, the growing hype has a great chance to help improve $MIL token’s price and usage, and further help the veterans who need it.
